High West Distillery Scales Bottling Operations with Fogg Filler

Founded in 2007 as Utah’s first distillery since 1870, High West Distillery needed a compact, scalable bottling solution to support its growth at its Wanship facility. By transitioning from a manual line to a custom Fogg gravity filler, High West optimized its limited floor space while increasing output up to 50 bottles per minute with adjustable line speeds.

Equipped with a protective glass package and safety clutches to prevent downtime, the Fogg system delivers reliable operation, easy in-house preventive maintenance, and strong long-term technical support. This partnership allows High West to maintain its high standards of quality and efficiency as its whiskey portfolio grows.

0:00 - High West Distillery started in 2007. We were the first distillery in Utah since 1870 and at the point that we needed to expand our operations we needed to find a location to fit the bill.

0:12 - We were able to build this gorgeous facility that we're sitting in today here in Wanship, Utah and this is where we do all of our distilling and bottling operations

0:20 - where we make our truly amazing whiskies. [Music] High West originally started as a manual filling operation we had a manual line with a gravity

0:33 - filler we're putting out about 27 bottles a minute and at that point wasn't really sustainable or scalable, so we partnered with Fogg, who was able to give us a great option for our small footprint.

0:45 - We don't have a lot of space to operate up here and so Fogg being the great company that they are, was able to design us this piece of equipment that we can leverage for the foreseeable future.

0:55 - It's been a great solution to our operation here. Our Fogg filler as it sits right now

1:01 - fills our 750 bottles at 35 bottles a minute we are able to get our 375 bottles filled at 50 bpm

1:08 - which has been great for us to be able to scale up on our portfolio. We can now adjust our bpm to allow us that higher output and also be able to throttle the line based

1:19 - on if we have a higher-touch product or we need to change up the output of the whole packaging line.

1:26 - We have a glass package on our machine which allows the machine to stop if the timing is incorrect or there's an issue with a bottle. That allows us one for safety reasons we don't

1:35 - have broken glass in the event that a bottle does break and also for the equipment safety we don't tearing up the machine the clutches stop the machine the appropriate way. [Music]

1:46 - Fogg has been very helpful at setting us up for success. They've given us all the information we need to do all of our preventative maintenance in-house, but in addition to that Fogg has also

1:55 - been great to help us in the event that we come across something we can't work through, and the team has really gotten a great relationship with the folks at Fogg to optimize and create more

2:05 - efficiency in those PMs. So it's really been a great partnership with Fogg in aligning those PMs.
